Description:
Illustration showing the formation of a star. Deep upper left is the nebula of gas and dust that gave birth to the protostar. We can observe a thickening cloud of protostar and a central jet of plasma that follows the lines twisted and tangled magnetic field leaving the poles. Orbiting the protostellar disk are two planets, one of reddish tone because it is still hot, and a second cooler planet, which is not well formed and results from accretion of fragments increasing. Small rocky comets fall towards the center.
